Delphi Intelligence Announces Preview of ‘Ask Alia’ AI Tutor Companion to School Textbooks
To Debut at CAST24
In collaboration with Conceptual Academy, Delphi Intelligence is previewing Ask Alia (previously Ask the Author), an AI tutor companion to textbooks that will revolutionize the textbook industry and accelerate learning for students. A preview version of Ask Alia will debut at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching 2024 (CAST24) education conference in San Antonio, TX this week.
Ask Alia is a revolutionary AI tutor for Conceptual Academy’s renowned Conceptual Physics program. Ask Alia helps students reinforce and expand their comprehension of physics concepts and aids teachers in reducing their office hours workload, reviewing the content they’re about to teach, and preparing assessments and other educational materials.

Ask Alia differs from more widely available LLMs, such as ChatGPT, in how it responds to questions or prompts. A stock LLM such as ChatGPT will answer generically and oftentimes incorrectly to specific questions about a topic such as Physics. In contrast, Ask Alia uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities to consult and retrieve relevant portions of Conceptual Academy’s Conceptual Physics textbook, to ensure accuracy and relevancy to the course. Ask Alia will also interpret, and present to the user relevant figures from the textbook. Critically, Ask Alia is tuned to match the pedagogy and learning engagement style of Conceptual Academy.
